Trying to stay home....

BUGS!!!!

August 28, 2009

What do you know about bed bugs?  If you're like me, not an awful lot... I though that they were something in undeveloped countries, or in long ago times, but watch the clip below for a little more up to date info:

Yikes, right?

Bed bugs can hitch a ride home with anyone, no matter how clean and neat you are.  They most often come home with you from traveling. They are found in hotels at most every level of service.  Unfortunately, a room can look completely clean and still be infested!  Many times there will be no evidence of bugs on the mattress in low-level infestations,  so even being on the lookout for them is not enough. They could be hidden anywhere in the room!! BugZip is a very inexpensive way to keep the problems at the hotel from following you home and causing tons of misery, and costing you THOUSANDS of dollars.  If you end up  with bed bugs in your home or building, you'll need to  wash, dry and bag all your clothes and belongings from your bedroom until bed bugs are completely gone. You'll liteeally be living out of garbage bags for weeks! Using BugZip for clothes you need to access (and in drawers) makes living through bed bugs a little more “normal”.

Sooo, BugZip works preventatively, at the hotel, or as part of a treatment plan if you didn't use them ahead of time.  They can help at both ends...

BugZip is a great product that I have personally purchased and reviewed, but like any product, has some specifics to be aware of when using it.  Users must use two hands and go slowly around corners to make sure zipper works well. Going too fast or unevenly can kink or tear the product. BugZip may seem a little stiff to zipper at first but the bag softens up nicely after a short while. Additionally, if you are using the product at a hotel, be sure to leave it at the hotel for disposal, otherwise you'll most likely bring the bugs that are hiding on the outside of the zipper home. If using at home, you can use it as long as you want in one room, but don’t move “used” BugZip bags to other rooms or out of the house so you don’t bring them with you.

Got that all?  :)   I truly hope that you never have to deal with these creepy crawlies, but best to be aware and prepared!  Buy a set of these bed bug encasements to have with you on your next trip just in case...
